The box office will be open and the Playhouse will screen two films for the public that weekend: "Singin’ in the Rain" and "ET" at 633 Old Post Road.

Guests will be among the very first to experience the theater’s state-of-the-art technology and colossal screen -- the biggest in Westchester County.

The Playhouse will offer limited programming on select weekends throughout the summer as operations ramp up towards a September Grand Opening.

Over this period, the Playhouse will hire and train new staff and give the public a taste of the varied cultural programming it will offer once fully open.

The first-run schedule begins with two Disney films: “The Incredibles 2" (premiering June 15) followed by "Ant Man and The Wasp" (premiering July 6), starring Bedford’s very own Michael Douglas.

A film evening with Will Reeve and an author event with Kerry Kennedy also are planned for early June. Details for these and other offerings may be found by clicking here:

Playhouse Founder John Farr said, "We are enormously excited to be opening the doors to our state-of-the-art main theater during summer weekends. Our public has been so patient; now comes the reward."

Construction of the café and remaining two theaters, including “The Clive," named after legendary music producer Clive Davis, will continue this summer and culminate with red carpet events and festivities celebrating the full opening on Sept. 8.

The Clive Davis Arts Center, as reported here earlier by Daily Voice, established in recognition of Davis’s instrumental support of the Playhouse, will encompass all the arts programming offered beyond film, including music performances, theater and art exhibits.

Since 2015, more than 1,200 individuals, families and organizations have supported efforts to transform the historic Bedford Playhouse into a state-of-the art cinema, cultural center and community hub.
